Flight license training. How much does it cost to learn to fly an airplane? Behavior skills in special flight situations

Civil aviation - a unified and standardized field human activity. National and international flights follow the same rules.

Civil aviation pilot training systems are practically the same between countries. If desired and free cash Anyone can learn to fly an airplane and become a certified private pilot.

Pilot training: types

Training programs and requirements for acquired skills vary depending on what kind of aircraft and for what purpose the person intends to fly.

In total, there are 3 types of licenses to operate a civil aircraft (in Russia - certificates).

Table 1. Types of piloting licenses.

Type of certificate

What does it entitle you to?

CPP – private pilot certificate

PPL – private pilot license

management of private small aircraft, without making a profit

SKP - commercial pilot certificate

CPL – commercial pilot license

piloting aircraft operating commercial flights (cargo and passenger with a number of restrictions)

SLP – line pilot certificate

ATPL – airline transport pilot license

to control an aircraft performing linear flights (mass passenger transportation, including in the role of first pilot)

Recreational pilots have the opportunity to obtain a private pilot license (PPL).

Where do they learn to fly an airplane?

In Russia, aviation training centers provide training and issue certificates. As a rule, there are such centers in every region, and in some, for example, in the Moscow region, there is not even one.

Training time – from 6 months. In principle, you can learn to fly faster. But flight schools have their own standards, which do not allow, for example, flying more than 3 hours a day.

Often flight practice is limited to 1-1.5 hours. However, they don’t fly every day. Plus – theoretical lectures.

If you wish, you can study in flight schools in the USA and Europe for 6 months. There are intensive courses where the full training program can be completed in 3-6 weeks. During the intensive course they fly for 3-6 hours every day. It is believed that daily practice allows you to learn to fly faster and more efficiently.

How is training to fly an airplane carried out?

In order to learn to fly, you need to master two courses: theory and practice.

Thematic courses are taught in specialized training centers. Some information can be gleaned from textbooks. Features of the aircraft design and its flight characteristics are contained in the operational manual.

Theoretical pilot course

The pilot must understand the following theoretical aspects:

  • aerodynamic elements;
  • device and design features aircraft;
  • operation of on-board equipment;
  • aviation meteorology;
  • aircraft navigation;
  • training in pilot control slang.

What a person taking the course should know and what skills should they learn:

  • know the basics of aircraft control;
  • know the characteristics and operational limitations of a particular aircraft type;
  • be able to calculate the center of gravity of an aircraft;
  • be able to calculate the effect of loading on flight characteristics;
  • have route planning skills;
  • have an understanding of the principles of controlling probabilistic threats and human errors;
  • have an idea of the algorithm of actions in emergency situation;
  • understand and analyze weather reports;
  • be able to use aeronautical maps;
  • know aviation codes and abbreviations;
  • possess the skill of conducting dialogue with dispatchers.

In reality, all of the above is not as complicated as it might seem at first glance. Despite the fact that the course is theoretical, the information provided is of a purely practical nature.

All this knowledge and skills are tied to a specific aircraft. Those. The theory is given in a limited and dosed manner, without loading students with unnecessary information.

The essence of theoretical studies is not for a person to know everything about aerodynamics at the level of an engineering university, but for him to have basic information that will make the behavior of the aircraft clear to him in certain conditions.

Practical pilot course

Practical classes take place in parallel with the theoretical course. On the first flights, the aircraft is controlled by the instructor, the student observes and acts as a co-pilot. During a certain flight, the instructor and the future pilot change places. At this stage, the student takes on the function of an aircraft commander, and the instructor prompts, corrects, and insures him against incorrect actions.

In addition to flying during the day, you must learn to fly at night, using instruments, in the absence of visual references, and be able to overcome a long flight with several landings.

As can be seen from the table above, the flight requirements for pilot training in the USA are more stringent: they require more flights at night, including one long flight, 3 hours of flight time in the absence of visual references, and the passage of one route with 3 takeoffs/landings at different airfields.

It should be noted that the flight hours requirements given are minimum. Nothing prevents schools from increasing the duration of training, including flight practice, if there are reasons for this (for example, because a person is slow to master the technique).

In particular, some American flight schools offer intensive three-week pilot training courses with 60 hours of flight time. At the same time, each week accounts for 20 hours in the air, which for daily flights is an average of 3 hours a day.

Upon completion of training, pilots pass theoretical exam and perform a check flight. If the results are satisfactory, the aviation training center issues the applicant a Private Pilot Certificate.

What does a Private Pilot License entitle you to?

A private pilot license holder has the right to:

  • Fly within the borders of the country that issued the certificate on a certain type of aircraft (the one on which the training took place).
  • Quickly retrain to fly other types of aircraft.
  • By confirming your Certificate abroad (by passing exams without training), you can obtain a license to pilot in any chosen country.

All civil aviation certificates issued in the world are standardized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). This means that they are international rights to operate private jets.

How much does it cost to learn to fly an airplane?

The cost of training depends on the aviation school and the type of aircraft used. In Russia, you can learn to fly an airplane for $7,000-$8,000 thousand (500 thousand rubles).

There are cheaper schools in the USA and Europe. However, travel costs, accommodation costs, visa and mandatory language exam will bring you closer total cost training to $8000-$10000, and perhaps even exceed this value.

At the same time, American education is traditionally considered the best. At least from an organizational point of view.

What if I want to fly big planes?

You can learn commercial or line piloting in Russia at specialized higher educational institutions by completing a full 5-year course.

In Europe and the USA this is easier. In 8 months You can get a commercial pilot's license. In 12 months – become a real line flight pilot with the right to control large passenger airliners. The cost of such courses starts from $50,000.

Flying is an old dream of mankind. Now, with the development of flying clubs, it is becoming more and more accessible. Learning to fly has long ceased to be considered the preserve of a select few. Exists state program pilot training and special techniques. If you want to learn, we will provide all the conditions for you. At your disposal is an aircraft designed for training purposes and an experienced instructor.

We'll make you a pilot!

You will undergo flight training in full compliance with the Ultralight Pilot License with a maximum take-off weight of up to 495 kg. This program is approved by the Federal Air Transport Agency. The training is led by an experienced pilot instructor with 11 years of piloting experience.

Flight training. What will you be able to do?

  1. Plan flights.
  2. Conduct pre-flight preparation (including calculations, inspection of the aircraft, preparation for the use of instruments and equipment).
  3. Start the power plant.
  4. Perform taxiing, takeoff and landing.
  5. Maneuver within established aircraft limitations of this class and type.
  6. Take off and land at sites outside of airfields.
  7. Guide the flight along the route using visual cues.
  8. Know and follow the procedures prescribed for special flight cases.
  9. Know air traffic rules, radiotelephone rules and phraseology.

These skills fully meet the requirements for ultralight aircraft pilots.

Airplane flight training. What does it look like?

As part of your training, you will receive general flight training and practical experience necessary to independently pilot this class of aircraft and operate its equipment to the extent necessary for safe flight operations.

The training consists of a theoretical part and flight training and is carried out under the guidance of an authorized pilot instructor.

Flight training

Procedure for conducting a flight training lesson:

  • Pre-flight preparation. You do it yourself necessary calculations, inspect the aircraft, prepare instruments and equipment for use.
  • Receiving a flight assignment. The assignment is given by your instructor.
  • Training flight. The flight is carried out in accordance with the assigned task, with an instructor or independently (depending on the stage of training and the level of your training). As a rule, the flight is performed in a circle - to master takeoff and landing. To practice maneuvering and special cases (stall, engine failure, etc.), flights are carried out in the aerobatic zone. At the final stages of training, subject to good preparation, flights are carried out along a developed route with landing at other airfields and at a site with air pick-up.

Behavior skills in special flight situations

As part of the training, behavior skills in emergency and emergency situations are instilled:

  • Engine failure.
  • Control failure.
  • Forced landing.
  • Stopping and starting the engine in flight.
  • Engine fire in flight.
  • The smell of gasoline appears in the cabin.
  • Entering an area of hazardous weather conditions.
  • Recovering an aircraft from an unintentional stall and spin.
  • Failure of the power supply system for devices with total and static pressure.

Flight hours

The training program for pilots of ultralight aircraft stipulates that in order to qualify as an amateur pilot, it is enough to fly 30 hours and 40 minutes. From these hours:

  • solo piloting time – 12 hours;
  • flight time along the route is 4 hours.

In reality, these standards do not fully take into account the individual characteristics of each cadet. In order to let him fly on his own, the instructor must be convinced that the cadet is confident in his piloting technique. After this, you must fly independently for at least 12 hours.
For safety reasons and full mastery of independent piloting, we recommend taking into account another standard that we developed in the process of practical training: 40-50 hours.

Our advantages

  • Extensive instructor and teaching experience. The instructor pilot trained at the Austrian flying club and has 11 years of piloting and teaching experience.
  • An aircraft designed for training purposes. Fully duplicated control. During flights with an instructor, all your actions are carefully monitored and insured.
  • Tandem crew arrangement. You sit in front, nothing blocks your view, no one distracts you from the flight mission. The instructor is behind you. He has the ability to insure you by taking over control.
  • Characteristics that ensure safe learning. Ease of operation. Low takeoff and landing speeds. Rescue system.

Airplane flight training. Price

The cost of all training is calculated based on the cost of a flight hour. In accordance with current standards, we have established a minimum approved cost of 8,000 rubles.

In total you need to fly at least 30 hours 40 minutes.

Have you always dreamed of heaven? The Piter Polet aviation club provides a unique opportunity to fly at the controls under the supervision of an experienced mentor or take a small aviation pilot course and receive a real air license.

You can choose any type of aircraft from the training fleet and the optimal flight training course, receiving a reliable theoretical basis, practice for developing piloting techniques and the necessary flight hours.

The issuance of pilot licenses in the North-Western Regional District is temporarily suspended. In this regard, in St. Petersburg we conduct training courses for small aviation pilots - SAF and SLA-moto; training for amateur pilots is carried out to obtain piloting skills without taking into account flight hours. In the near future, the training center will be opened and full pilot training will resume.

We offer four flight training programs to choose from

Flight training workshops

For those who have not yet decided, master classes on flying an airplane and a helicopter are available.

Each lesson includes a theoretical part and instruction, familiarization with the basics of aerodynamics and the aircraft control system, basic instruments and flight stages - from takeoff to landing. As part of the practical part, all stages are practiced in the air. You can choose an extreme master class with turns and aerobatics.

Theory and practice of flying

Flight training courses (FTC) take place in two main stages: theoretical and practical training.

  1. The study of flight theory is carried out in Moscow, at the training base of our partners - aviation training center"Wingspan" Previously, we taught theory ourselves, but we were faced with the fact that it was more convenient for our cadets to attend evening theoretical classes in Moscow during the week. The theoretical pilot training course includes the following subjects:
  • air legislation;
  • practical aerodynamics;
  • aircraft design;
  • aircraft navigation and navigation in the sky;
  • aircraft power plant design;
  • design of aviation and radio equipment;
  • technical and flight operation of aircraft;
  • rescue equipment, their use;
  • meteorology in aviation;
  • conduct and phraseology of radio communications;
  • aviation security and many others. etc.
  1. The initial flight training program at the pilot school is conducted at the Beloomut airfield with an experienced pilot instructor. Cadets will acquire the following skills:
  • ground pre-flight training for amateur pilots;
  • primary piloting skills, first solo flight;
  • flight at critically low and high air speeds;
  • elimination of the spin effect in flight;
  • takeoffs and landings at normal conditions and in strong side winds;
  • recognition of stall (initial and developed) and recovery from it;
  • takeoffs/landings in limited areas;
  • training to fly using instruments only;
  • flying along a developed route using visual references, using dead reckoning methods and radio navigation aids;
  • flight with emergency simulation: engine failure, on-board equipment, etc.;
  • night flights and many others. etc.

Procedure and duration of training:

  1. The duration of the theoretical course is 172 hours (approximately four months). At the end of the training, students are tested and take exams in all theoretical disciplines.
  2. The estimated duration of flight training is 42 hours. For effective learning To develop and maintain piloting skills, regular flight time of at least two hours per week is required. Otherwise, there will be no progress, and learning to fly an airplane and obtaining a private pilot certificate will be delayed indefinitely. After completing the course, examinations are carried out on aircraft navigation and piloting techniques.
  3. You can start performing training flights in Moscow at the same time as attending theoretical classes.
  4. Upon successful passing of the theoretical and flight training exams, the registration documents are transferred to Working group Higher Qualification Commission Federal agency air transport (Rosaviation) Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation (RG VKK).
  5. After passing the certification, the graduate will be awarded a private pilot license PPL (Private Pilot License). With this document you have the right to fly on private aircraft.

Tuition fees

  • Payment for the full course of study can be made in whole or in parts, in cash or by bank transfer.
  • The cost of a theoretical pilot school course is 36,000 rubles. If you missed a lesson, you can easily attend a similar lecture on another day in another group.
  • The average cost of a flight course is about 450,000 rubles. or 180 rub./min. The final price depends on several factors, among which individual psychophysiological characteristics of accounting play a special role - type nervous system, properties of temperament. However, practice shows that the main ones are still motivational features - interest in flying, desire to learn, as well as persistence in mastering educational material, and regularity of flights. In short, pilots are not born, but made. We will help you with this!
