Fire damper: advantages, disadvantages, features of product control. Fire damper: advantages, disadvantages, product control features Valves for rooms with increased requirements for cleanliness of the working environment

Fire-prevention normally open (fire-retarding) valves KLOP ® -1 are designed to block the spread of fire and combustion products through air ducts, shafts and channels of ventilation and air conditioning systems of buildings and structures for various purposes. Normally closed (including smoke) valves KLOP ® -1 are used as smoke ventilation valves. The valves are used in accordance with regulatory requirements. KLOP ® -1 valves cannot be installed in rooms of categories A and B for explosion and fire hazard.

Fire resistance limit of valves:

KLOP ® -1(60) - in normally open (fire retardant) and normally closed mode - EI 60;
in smoke mode - EI 60, E 60.
KLOP ® -1(90) - in normally open (fire retardant) and normally closed mode - EI 90;
in smoke mode - EI 90, E 90.

KLOP ® -1 valves are produced only of the “channel” type with two flanges (rectangular and round section) or with a nipple connection (round valves). The valve drive is installed outside the housing. Valve body rectangular section is made of carbon cold-rolled steel with subsequent painting; the round valve body is made of galvanized steel.

Normally open (NO) valves KLOP ® -1 are manufactured in various modifications depending on the type of actuator:

  • with an electromagnetic drive in combination with a thermal lock at 72°C (or without it);
  • round valves with an electromagnetic drive are manufactured without a thermal lock;
  • with BELIMO electromechanical drives (BF or BLF) in combination with a thermal release device at 72°C (or without it);
  • with spring drive and thermal lock at 72°C or 141°C, with or without microswitches.

Normally closed (NC), including smoke valves KLOP ® -1(60) KLOP ® -1(90) are available with an electromagnetic drive without a thermal lock or reversible BELIMO actuators type BLE or BE (for large valves). On valves manufactured for foreign countries, electromechanical BELIMO actuators with a return spring type BF or BLF without TRU can also be installed.

KLOP ® -1 valves are operational in any spatial orientation.

When designing and installing valves in ventilation systems, ease of access to the valve drive and inspection hatches in its body should be taken into account. In air ducts large section crossing the enclosing structures of ventilation chambers with high-capacity fans installed in them, it is recommended to install KLOP ® -3 valves.

Fire damper KLOP-1 on the market of domestic fire dampers is, perhaps, one of the most famous and eminent.

Its certification and the development of mass production were carried out in 1999, and the KLOP-1 valve became the first domestic certified fire damper, and the name KLOP-1 became a registered trademark. For some time, the KLOP-1 valve was the only fire damper domestic production. Well-organized marketing by the manufacturer and work with design organizations has made the KLOP valve popular, often found in project documentation. This probably contributed to the fact that the name KLOP-1 became a household name; you may encounter situations when a customer, applying for valves, says: “I need to buy KLOP-1,” although the specific name of the valve is not indicated in his documentation and the valve KLOP-1 can be replaced with other fire dampers with similar parameters.

The fire damper KLOP-1 is installed in the channels of general ventilation and air conditioning with mechanical draft stimulation. Fire retardant (normally open valves) prevent the spread of fire through these channels, and smoke (normally closed valves) prevent the spread or removal of smoke.

Fire damper KLOP-1 is produced in two modifications:

CLOP-1(60);

CLOP-1(90);

The difference between them lies in the fire resistance limits.

KLOP-1 (60) has a fire resistance limit of 60 minutes (1 hour).

KLOP-1 (90) has a fire resistance limit of 90 minutes (1.5 hours).

The KLOP-1 valve can perform the functions of both a fire-retarding valve (damper in the “normally open” position) and a smoke exhaust valve (damper in the “normally closed” position).

The valve body can be made of either round or rectangular (square) cross-section.

KLOP-1 is intended for installation only in the canal. The drive that transfers the valve flap from the initial state to the operating state is located outside the valve. To control the position of the damper, a special inspection hatch is provided on the valve. It is used when an air duct is connected to the valve on both sides and it is not possible to look inside the already installed valve through the flow section.

The body of the KLOP-1 valve is made of carbon (black) steel, subsequently painted. In this way, KLOP-1 differs from the KLOP-2 valve, the body of which is made of galvanized steel.

A rectangular (square) valve is equipped on both sides with flanges through which it is attached to the ventilation duct.

The round valve can be manufactured either on flanges or for nipple mounting in the ventilation duct.

The fire damper KLOP-1 is equipped with the following types of actuators for controlling the damper damper:

Electromechanical drive BELIMO type BF(24), BF(220) or BLF(24), BLF(220) with return spring with supply voltage 24V or 220V;

Electromagnetic EM(220), EM(24) or EM(12) - electromagnetic drive with a supply voltage of 12V, 24V or 220V;

TZ - spring drive with thermal lock;

TZ(M) - spring drive with thermal lock and microswitches;

When choosing an actuator for fire dampers, you should consider that:

Part 2 Art. 138 of Federal Law No. 123-FZ prohibits the use of actuators of the TZ and TZ(M) types on NO fire dampers in Russian Federation.

The use of MV type actuators on NC and smoke valves in the Russian Federation is contrary to clause 7.18 of SP 7.13130.2009.

The price of fire dampers KLOP-1, KLOP-2, KLOP-3, KOM-1, KDM-2 and KLAD-2 are given below.

The price of a fire damper with dimensions different from those indicated in the table is determined on the larger side. For example, the price of a KLOP-1 valve with dimensions 400x200 is determined as the price of a 400x400 valve. The price of a KLOP-2 valve with dimensions 600x350 is determined as the price of a valve with dimensions 600x600, etc.

Purpose

Fire-prevention normally open (fire-retarding) valves KLOP-1 are designed to block the spread of fire and combustion products through air ducts, shafts and channels of ventilation and air conditioning systems of buildings and structures for various purposes. KLOP-1 smoke and normally closed valves are used as smoke ventilation valves. The valves are used in accordance with the requirements of SNiP 41-01-2008, SNiP 21-01-97* and territorial building codes.

KLOP-1 valves cannot be installed in rooms of categories A and B due to explosion and fire hazard. KLOP-1 valves in explosion-proof design are installed in these premises.

Valves are manufactured in rectangular and circular cross-sections.

  • in normally open (fire retardant) and normally closed modes – EI 90;
  • in smoke mode – E 90.
KLOP-1 valves are produced only of the “channel” type with two flanges and external placement of the actuator. Valves KLOP-1 round section are also manufactured with a nipple connection (nipple valves). The round valve body is made of galvanized steel.

Normally open (NO) valves KLOP-1 are manufactured in various modifications depending on the type of actuator:

  • round valves with an electromagnetic drive are manufactured without a thermal lock;
  • with BELIMO electromechanical drives (type BF or BLF) in combination with a thermal release device at 72 °C (or without it);
  • with spring drive and thermal lock at 72 °C or 141 °C, with or without microswitches.
KLOP-1(60) and KLOP-1(90) smoke and normally closed (NC) valves are produced with an electromagnetic drive without a thermal lock or with BELIMO reversible drives of type BLE or BE (for large valves). These valves can also be equipped with BELIMO electromechanical actuators with return spring type BF or BLF without TRU.

KLOP-1 valves are operational in any spatial orientation.

Installation

When designing and installing valves in ventilation systems, one should take into account ease of access to the valve drive and service hatches for devices located inside the valve.

In large cross-section air ducts crossing the enclosing structures of ventilation chambers with high-capacity fans installed in them, it is recommended to install KLOP-3 valves.

The round valve body is made of galvanized steel.

Execution

The type of climatic version of the valves is U3 according to GOST 15150-69. The valves can be installed indoors with ambient temperatures from -30 °C to +40 °C in the absence of direct exposure to precipitation and moisture condensation on the damper.

The environment must be explosion-proof, not containing aggressive vapors and gases in concentrations that destroy metals, paint and varnish coatings and electrical insulation.

When installing normally open (fire-retarding) valves outside walls (ceilings), external fire protection must be applied to the edge of the casing protecting the valve drive, and in accordance with the requirements of SNiP 41-01-2008 (clause 7.11.1, Note 1) must provide a limit fire resistance not less than the required fire resistance limit of the barrier.

In accordance with SNiP, valves can be installed on the side of room A. In these cases, the valve installation diagrams are depicted “mirror” relative to the building structure, that is, the protective casing must be located in the structure or external fire protection on the side of room A.

In accordance with the results of many years of climatic testing of valves, carried out for their operating conditions at the interface of media with different temperatures and humidity, this scheme is recommended for macroclimatic regions with a temperate climate.

When installing valves in the external building envelope, additional devices are provided to prevent atmospheric precipitation from entering the valve, for example, louvered grilles, canopies, etc.

For installation in air ducts with a diameter of 100, 125 and 140 mm, instead of KLOP ® -1 valves with tubular or plate transitions, KLOP ® -2 valves of the corresponding diameter without transitions can be manufactured.

Transport valves

The valves have design features that take into account the specific operating conditions at transport facilities and can be used in ventilation and air conditioning systems for railway rolling stock. The valves have been tested for vibration and impact resistance.

Valves for clean rooms

Valves are manufactured with rectangular cross-section and circular cross-section (nipple version only).

Special purpose stainless steel is used in the manufacture of the valve body, damper and casing. The valves can be used in food, pharmaceutical and microelectronics industries.
Basic specifications special purpose valves are similar to the characteristics of KLOP-1 valves.

Marking features

When purchasing valves, technical passports with a stamp are issued of blue color in the upper right corner of the front cover. Passport covers are made of thick colored paper, each type of valve has its own color. At the top there should be a brand mark with the manufacturer’s logo (red flame, inscription, and a stylized image of black smoke), made of metallized foil simulating gold. Selective varnishing in the form of the manufacturer's logo is applied diagonally.

Each technical passport has its own number, which is located in the center of the passport. The technical passport number coincides with the invoice number according to which this batch of products is sold. For example: 15/6. If several technical passports are required for a batch of valves according to one invoice, then they are numbered with serial numbers separated by a hyphen from the invoice number. For example: 15/6-1, 15/6-2, etc.

On the copy of the certificate located in the technical passport fire safety The manufacturer's blue stamp and the signature of an authorized person are affixed.

Valve serial number labels are affixed to the valve bodies. Each of them has its own color: BUG®-1 – blue. The labels, as well as the security mark, are made of metallized foil. The inscriptions on the main background are golden, and the horizontal red stripe at the bottom of the label is black. Selective varnishing in the form of the manufacturer's logo was applied diagonally (across the entire field).

Additionally, labels are affixed to the valve body indicating the functional purpose of the valve (NO, NC, D) and the fire resistance limit. In addition, labels with a connection diagram for the electromagnet and microswitches, as well as labels indicating the position of the damper (“open”, “closed”) are affixed to valves with an electromagnetic drive.

KLOP fire dampers are manufactured by different manufacturers. The most famous company that creates fire-fighting technical structures of the named brand is WINGS-M. The company, which was founded only in 2002, quickly gained the trust of market consumers and today is one of the leading manufacturers of fireproof valves for industrial and residential buildings.

The first fire dampers in Russia were created at the VINGS-M enterprise. They were represented by anti-smoke ventilation mechanisms KDM 1. Later, the company established profitable cooperation with the Swiss company BELIMO. Components from Switzerland were used to manufacture the first models of KLOP 2 valves with a belimo drive, enclosed in an explosion-proof housing.

Now the WINGS-M company is engaged in the production of technical equipment different types. Products of domestic manufacturers are in demand among buyers. Customers are most interested in fireproof valves of the following models:

  • Bug;
  • Treasure;

These varieties technical equipment differ from each other in functionality, and are widely used in various applications. This article will discuss the KLOP brand valve, its technical characteristics and operating nuances.

How does a fire arresting valve work?

Fire damper KLOP 1 blocks the spread of fire through air ventilation shafts during a fire. The manufacturer produces this device in 2 modifications:

  • with round section, nipple;
  • channel, equipped with 2 flanges.

Fire protection devices also differ in the type of drive. On sale, buyers will be able to find a fire-retarding valve with an electric drive KLOP 1 in the following varieties:

  • electromagnetic (some of its models are equipped with a thermal lock);
  • electromechanical (supplemented with thermal closing equipment).

There are models equipped with a housing that well protects the internal mechanism from explosions. Such products are allowed to be used in accordance with GOST.

Fire-fighting products of the KLOP brand contribute to the rapid localization of the source of fire, protecting people and property from the effects of smoke. Some of the models are equipped with special triggering devices, thanks to which the spread of fire through the rooms is restrained for 2 hours. KLOP fire protection valves are divided into 2 categories:

  • open, which do not allow fire to spread through ventilation systems;
  • closed (they are also called smoke).

The level of fire resistance of products varies and depends on the intended operating conditions. The fire resistance limit of KLOP brand structures corresponds to the following values:

  • EI 60, E60;
  • EI 90, E 90.

Valves with these characteristics can operate in open or closed mode.

Fire dampers are located in a special housing, on the door of which is displayed helpful information for the owner. Thanks to it you can find out:

  1. Is there constant power and voltage in the network (50Hz/220V)?
  2. Position of the fire-retarding door (OZK closed, OZK open).
  3. About the fire signal.

Essentially, the control panel is the most important element all fire protection system. The structural components of the fire-retarding equipment Klop are:

  • a body having a rectangular cross-section;
  • seals (located between the doors and the body part);
  • protective flaps;
  • drive (with its help the shutters are rotated).

The valve is equipped with 1 or 2 flaps. They are made of heat-resistant material, which is lined with sheets on top durable steel. The doors are installed in the inner part of the body. Their movement in the event of a fire is ensured by plain bearings. The device operates thanks to a thermal lock or an electric drive. The latter is reliably protected from damage by a removable casing. When voltage is supplied to the equipment through the drive, the shutters automatically close. If the product has a thermal lock, then its shutter is carried out by releasing the energy accumulated in the spring. This happens when the exposure temperature reaches 72 ºC.

Advantages of the KLOP valve. Product benefits

The KLOP 2 fire-retarding valve with a belimo drive and other structures of a similar type have their own classification. Equipment open type When a fire occurs in the building, it immediately slams shut, preventing fire and smoke from spreading beyond the localization point. Closed-type products operate on the reverse principle. Initially they are closed, but in the event of a fire they open.

Fire-fighting mechanisms of the KLOP brand are installed near ventilation systems in order to prevent the rapid spread of fire and smoke through them in the event of a fire. An interesting modification of the design is the product with explosion protection. Such a valve is installed in buildings where there is a high risk of explosions. By equipping fireproof air ducts with flanges, their connection with ventilation ducts carried out quickly and easily.

In order for the KLOP fire damper to work correctly and without interruption, it must be checked regularly. The diagnostic data of the fire-retarding structure must be included in a special act.

The functioning of technical fire-fighting equipment is carried out due to an electromagnetic drive. The manufacturer equips the KLOP valve models with both electromechanical and spring actuators. Below are the most popular modifications of the series.

  1. BUG-1. The device operates from an electromechanical or electromagnetic Belimo drive. Control is optional. The product is distinguished by an affordable price for middle-class buyers.
  2. BUG-2. Fire dampers of this modification have several differences from the 1st model. They are characterized by better aerodynamic performance, convenience and ease of installation.
  3. BUG-3. Equipment of this type is widely used in conditions where air is consumed at high speeds. Most often they are mounted in air ducts with large size sections.

All types of fire protection valves KLOP are lightweight and compact in size. They respond promptly to a fire.

What do consumers think about the fire protection device?

Air ducts and ventilation systems permeate the entire building. If a fire occurs in the room, combustion products quickly spread through the ventilation ducts. Buyers with dignity and positive side evaluated a special damper device that blocks the passage of fire and smoke. Everyone who has already seen a KLOP brand valve in action says that thanks to this product the fire resistance of the entire building increases. You can easily install the device yourself, and it is inexpensive. In addition, in specialized stores you can select fire protection devices for air ducts with a cross-section different shapes(round, square, rectangular). They can be installed on supply or exhaust ventilation system. The use of such structures makes it possible to minimize the damage caused by fire and localize the source of combustion.

Features of installation of fire protection devices

Installation of a fire damper has its own nuances. They depend on what type of device is used for protection. If this is an open fireproof valve, then its installation is carried out regardless of spatial orientation. True, then it is necessary to check the correctness of installation and draw up a corresponding report. This work is performed by a representative of the fire inspectorate.

The installation of open fire dampers does not depend on the direction of the air flow in the ventilation system. The location for their installation is determined in advance, taking into account general rules fire safety equipment. A certificate of compliance of the device with the selected mounting area must be drawn up.
