Petunia shoots appear. How to care for petunias after germination. Sowing in peat tablets

Foreword

Often gardeners are faced with a problem when petunia seedlings suddenly begin to stretch, forming a long stem with small leaves. It is unlikely that such seedlings will give good growth and beautiful flowers. We will tell you how to avoid this problem, as well as the care rules that should be followed to grow healthy and strong petunia seedlings.

You can grow a healthy seedling and get high-quality seedlings of petunias if you follow the rules for care and the optimal microclimate.

  • At the stage of seed germination, we create high level humidity while keeping the temperature between 22-24°C. When sowing seeds, we slightly deepen them into the ground, without sprinkling them with earth.
  • When the first roots and cotyledons (embryonic leaves) appear, we lower the humidity level and temperature to 20 ° C, create a constant illumination within 25,000 lux (illuminance unit).
  • When the first true leaves appear, let the soil dry well between waterings, continue to lower the temperature to 18-21 ° C. But the illumination level is doubled to 50,000 lux. For a more active growth of leaves, we begin to gradually add complex mineral fertilizers.
  • An important stage is the picking of seedlings. After transplanting young sprouts into separate containers, we maintain an average level of humidity, and keep the temperature within 16–18 ° C, slightly increase the illumination to 55,000 lux.
  • When the seedlings grow and become crowded, we make a second transplant. For ordinary petunias, flower pots with a diameter of 10–13 cm are suitable. After transplantation, it is important to maintain a balance of temperatures, during the day within 16–20 ° C and at night 13-18°C.

Petunia seedlings

If you stick to these important rules at the initial stages of petunia growth, you will be able to get a high percentage of seed germination, prevent the development of a black leg and elongation of seedlings, form a plant with a developed root system and voluminous leaves.

One of the reasons why a petunia can stretch out is the non-observance of optimal temperature and light conditions. Exactly fever often causes elongation of petunia seedlings. At the stage of seed germination, high temperatures and the creation of mini-greenhouse conditions are ideal for the plant. However, after the appearance of the first shoots, comfortable for humans temperature conditions above 22 °C will not work. If no measures are taken to reduce temperature indicators, the seedlings will turn into a thin stem, bending towards the ground, with several embryonic leaves.

Therefore, in as soon as possible after the appearance of the first shoots, we reduce the temperature to 18 ° C and provide young seedlings with round-the-clock lighting. Choose the coolest spot in your home. At the stage of formation, avoid window sills and places near the battery. Here can be created as too high temperatures with overdried air, and quite low about 10 °C.

Young petunia sprout

In the second week of growth of a young petunia, begin to gradually harden it by opening the window for micro-ventilation for 10 minutes a day. This will not only provide the necessary air flow, but will also reduce the temperature in the room by several degrees. When airing, do not forget about drafts and direct currents of cold air, from which seedlings must be protected. A month after picking, seedlings can be taken out to glazed balcony or in a greenhouse.

I would like to note the problem of sudden changes in humidity. Here, gardeners often make mistakes that lead to lengthening of the petunia stem. It is necessary to remove the film or other protective material of your mini-greenhouse gradually. When using a film, make small holes in it, gradually increasing their diameter, and at the end remove the covering material completely.

Lighting is another important condition for the proper growth of petunias. If at the stage of seed germination this moment can be skipped, then after the appearance of the first green loop above the ground, the intensity of light, especially solar, should be high. Considering that petunia requires almost round-the-clock lighting, you will have to purchase additional lighting devices - fluorescent or specialized lamps. When growing a small number of petunias, you can use conventional lamps with energy-saving light bulbs.

However, whatever lighting device you choose, remember that it should not overdry and heat the air. With a lack natural light turn on the lamp at high power during the day, and leave the light dimmed at night . The optimal distance from the lamp to the container with seedlings is 10-15 cm. Use a transparent film or plastic as a protective material for your mini-greenhouse. It is not recommended to use glass in this case, since it does not transmit light radiation well. With a lack of light, the petunia will quickly stretch out, become weak and susceptible to disease.

If we talk about the timing of sowing, then you should not rush here. It is possible to sow in January-February, however, due to the low intensity and amount of natural light, you will have to use more often. artificial lighting, and these are additional energy and material costs. Therefore, it is better to start germinating seedlings in March-April. Planting density also plays an important role. Do not sow petunia close to each other, maintain a certain distance. To make the petunia bush voluminous, do not forget to pinch it.

grown seedlings

If you are not careful enough, you can miss the moment when the petunia seedlings need to dive. The overgrown seedlings become crowded in one container, and it begins to wriggle and stick out in different sides. This is more true for sprouts that are closer to the window. This can be avoided by rotating the box every day to ensure even sunlight reaches all the petunia seedlings. If the sprouts are very stretched out, they must be transplanted into separate containers or a greenhouse, press the long stem with a loop to the ground and sprinkle the rest up to the cotyledons with nutrient soil mixture.

Proper watering also helps to get healthy petunia seedlings with strong stems and leaves. In this case, it should be regular, but small, literally from a teaspoon under the root. Drying out of the soil will lead to the withering of the plant, and excessive moisture to the development of a black leg and the death of seedlings. After each watering, do not forget to slightly loosen the ground so that an earthen crust does not form on it, which prevents the flow of air and nutrients to the root system.

Seedling after picking

In the first week of sowing, we spray under the root with a spray gun, and add a couple of grams of potassium permanganate to the water to enhance growth and prevent diseases, in particular, the black leg. After a week of growth, proceed to moderate watering.

We recommend using growth stimulants for petunias no more than 2-3 times during the entire growing period. If you provide the desired flow of light, moisture, maintain optimal temperature, then the seedlings grow rapidly, forming strong and healthy without additional stimulants. But you should not forget about top dressing and fertilizers. From the moment the embryonic leaves appear until the seedlings are transplanted into separate containers, spray the petunia leaves with calcium nitrate. It will help prevent stretching and shape strong frame plants. Top dressing with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium is also important, but you should not be zealous with their quantity. Oversaturation of the soil with organic matter and nitrogenous fertilizers leads to the slow development of seedlings with a thin stem.

To grow petunia seedlings, we use home-made plastic containers with a depth of at least 5 cm or buy special mini-greenhouses in the store. Additionally, we purchase soil for seedlings, cling film and toothpicks. We fill each segment of the container with earth, spill it with water with the addition of potassium permanganate. If there are no drainage holes at the bottom of the cassettes, we pre-make them.

Germination of petunia seedlings

We lay out the seeds on a white sheet of paper and with a toothpick moistened on one side, we begin to deepen them one by one into the ground. We place the seeds at a comfortable distance from each other, so that during growth the sprouts do not interfere with each other and stretch upwards as little as possible. We do not sprinkle the seeds with earth, giving them maximum access to sunlight. With absence plastic cover cover the seeds with a transparent film to keep the air humidity after watering and heat. In a mini-greenhouse, sprouts can be up to picking. Do not forget to open them for a while, providing fresh air.

As a result of this cultivation, a large percentage of planted petunias grow strong and healthy. But still the risk of formation of sprouts with a thin stem remains. For such instances there is salvation - peat tablets.

If during the cultivation of petunia stretching could not be avoided, peat tablets will become the best way solutions to this problem. In addition, this option can be used initially for seed germination and subsequent seedling growth.

Growing seedlings in peat tablets

They cost pennies and are easy to work with. Put them in a pan and pour boiling water over them. When the washers swell and become more like a "barrel", they must be slightly squeezed out of excess moisture, placed in a transparent container or in plastic cups. On the surface of each tablet, you can plant one seed at a time, or several at a time, having previously made small indentations 0.5–1 cm deep in them.

When watering, peat tablets are not washed off, as is the case with ordinary soil, and keep the sprouts in one position. As soon as we notice the appearance of the first shoots, gently pour the required amount of peat mixture or the right amount of earth on all sides with a toothpick. In the case of transplanting elongated petunia seedlings, we also soak the tablets, make indentations in them, carefully place the sprouts in the hole and cover the sides with earth up to the cotyledons. Thus, we will be able to strengthen the weakened stem, as well as increase additional root system on the elongated part of the stem underground. As with growing seedlings in a mini-greenhouse, do not forget about observing daylight hours, watering, air humidity and ventilation.

Astrakhan tomatoes ripen remarkably lying on the ground, but you should not repeat this experience in the Moscow region. Our tomatoes need support, support, a garter. My neighbors use all sorts of pegs, garters, loops, ready-made plant supports, and mesh fences. Each method of fixing the plant in an upright position has its own advantages and " side effects". I'll tell you how I place tomato bushes on trellises, and what comes of it.

Flies are a sign of unsanitary conditions and carriers of infectious diseases that are dangerous for both humans and animals. People are constantly looking for ways to get rid of nasty insects. In this article, we will talk about the Zlobny TED brand, which specializes in fly protection products and knows a lot about them. The manufacturer has developed a specialized line of drugs to get rid of flying insects anywhere quickly, safely and without extra costs.

The summer months are the time for hydrangeas to bloom. This beautiful deciduous shrub is luxuriously fragrant with flowers from June to September. Florists willingly use large inflorescences for wedding decors and bouquets. To admire the beauty of a flowering hydrangea bush in your garden, you should take care of the proper conditions for it. Unfortunately, some hydrangeas do not bloom year after year, despite the care and efforts of gardeners. Why this happens, we will tell in the article.

Every summer resident knows that plants need nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium for full development. These are the three main macronutrients, the deficiency of which significantly affects appearance and yield of plants, and in advanced cases can lead to their death. But at the same time, not everyone understands the importance of other macro- and microelements for plant health. And they are important not only in themselves, but also for the effective absorption of the same nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.

garden strawberry, or strawberry, as we used to call it, is one of the early fragrant berries that summer generously endows us with. How we rejoice in this harvest! In order for the "berry boom" to repeat every year, we need to take care of the care of the berry bushes in the summer (after the end of fruiting). The laying of flower buds, from which ovaries will form in spring, and berries in summer, begins approximately 30 days after the end of fruiting.

Spicy pickled watermelon is a savory snack for fatty meat. Watermelons and watermelon rinds have been pickled since time immemorial, but the process is laborious and time consuming. According to my recipe, it’s easy to cook pickled watermelon in 10 minutes, and it will be ready by the evening. spicy snack. The watermelon marinated with spices and chili is stored in the refrigerator for several days. Be sure to keep the jar in the refrigerator, not only for the sake of preservation - chilled, this snack is just licking your fingers!

Among the variety of species and hybrids of philodendrons, there are many plants, both gigantic and compact. But not a single species competes in unpretentiousness with the main modest - blushing philodendron. True, his modesty does not concern the appearance of the plant. Reddening stems and cuttings, huge leaves, long shoots, forming a very large, but strikingly elegant silhouette, look very elegant. Philodendron blushing requires only one thing - at least minimal care.

Thick Chickpea Soup with Vegetables and Egg - an easy recipe for a hearty first course inspired by oriental cuisine. Similar thick soups prepared in India, Morocco, countries of Southeast Asia. The tone is set by spices and seasonings - garlic, chili, ginger and a bouquet of spicy spices, which can be assembled to your liking. It is better to fry vegetables and spices in melted butter (ghee) or mix olive oil and butter, it's certainly not the same, but similar in taste.

Plum - well, who does not know her ?! She is loved by many gardeners. And all because it has an impressive list of varieties, surprises with excellent harvests, pleases with its variety in terms of ripening and a huge choice of color, shape and taste of fruits. Yes, somewhere she feels better, somewhere worse, but almost no summer resident refuses to grow her on her plot. Today it can be found not only in the south, in middle lane, but also in the Urals, in Siberia.

Many ornamental and fruit crops, except for drought-resistant ones, suffer from the scorching sun, and conifers in the winter-spring period - from the sun's rays, enhanced by the reflection from the snow. In this article we will talk about a unique preparation for protecting plants from sunburn and droughts - Sunshet Agrosuccess. The problem is relevant for most regions of Russia. February and early March Sun rays become more active, and the plants are not yet ready for new conditions.

“Each vegetable has its own time”, and each plant has its own optimal time for planting. Anyone who has experienced planting is well aware that the hot season for planting is spring and autumn. This is due to several factors: in spring, the plants have not yet started to grow rapidly, there is no sweltering heat, and precipitation often falls. However, no matter how hard we try, circumstances often develop in such a way that landings have to be carried out at the very height of summer.

Chile con carne translated from Spanish- chili with meat. This is a Texan and Mexican dish whose main ingredients are chili peppers and minced beef. In addition to the main products bow goes, carrots, tomatoes, beans. This red lentil chili recipe is delicious! The dish is fiery, burning, very satisfying and amazingly tasty! You can cook a large pot, arrange in containers and freeze - a whole week will be a delicious dinner.

Cucumber is one of the most beloved garden crops of our summer residents. However, not all and not always gardeners manage to get really good harvest. And although growing cucumbers requires regular attention and care, there is a little secret that will significantly increase their yield. It's about pinching cucumbers. Why, how and when to pinch cucumbers, we will tell in the article. An important point The agricultural technique of cucumbers is their formation, or type of growth.

Now every gardener has the opportunity to grow absolutely environmentally friendly, healthy fruits and vegetables in own garden. The microbiological fertilizer Atlant will help in this. It contains helper bacteria that settle in the zone of the root system and begin to work for the benefit of the plant, allowing it to actively grow, stay healthy and give high yields. Usually, many microorganisms coexist around the root system of plants.

Summer is associated with beautiful flowers. Both in the garden and in the rooms you want to admire the luxurious inflorescences and touching flowers. And for this it is not at all necessary to use cut bouquets. In the range of the best indoor plants many beautiful flowering species. In the summer, when they receive the brightest lighting and the optimal duration of daylight hours, they are able to outshine any bouquet. Short-lived or just annual crops look like living bouquets.

Bright petunia is good for everyone: beautiful flowers various shades, splendor, long flowering, unpretentiousness. However, not every gardener succeeds in decorating his plot with these popular flowers, the reason for this is the difficulty of growing seedlings.

Since the cost of the finished planting material quite high, the arrangement of a large flower bed will require considerable financial costs. It’s better to learn how to get sprouts on your own, let it take some time. But, knowing personal experience how to properly grow seedlings of petunias, in the future it will be much easier for you to grow any other flowers.

If you want to receive flowering plants earlier, start sowing seeds at the end of January

planted in open ground petunia is best in mid-June, which means that seeds should be sown from mid-March. Approximately 12-13 weeks are required for the seedlings to get stronger, the root system to become stronger, and the first flowers to appear. If you want to get flowering plants earlier, start sowing seeds at the end of January.

How to grow petunia seedlings at home: general recommendations

The choice of soil for seedlings

Proper soil is one of the keys to the success of growing seedlings. For petunias, it should be light, breathable, moisture-absorbing and nutritious.

The easiest way is to buy ready soil for seedlings in the store. The advantages of such a solution are obvious. First of all, the prepared soil is sterile and does not contain pathogens. In addition, it is a clean soil, in which there are no foreign inclusions. For such small seeds as petunias, this point is especially important.

It should, of course, be borne in mind that not every ready-made soil mixture is suitable for growing seedlings of petunias.

Did you know: Often petunias do not germinate well due to too acidic soil substrate. The “culprit” of this situation is high-moor peat, which is characterized by high acidity.

First of all, you should pay attention to the variety of peat used in the soil mixture. It can be riding (red) or lowland (black). The soil for growing petunias should not be too acidic, so you need to choose soil based on lowland peat.

Did you know: You can reduce the acidity of the soil by adding lime to it. A teaspoon of limestone or dolomite flour is added to one liter of soil.

German soil of the Green World brand is well suited for growing petunias. It is also possible to use soil from the Russian manufacturer Pelgorskoe-M.

If you decide to prepare the soil yourself, you will need soddy soil, peat and sand. In this case, the sand should not be chosen red, but river sand - white or grayish in color. Red sand contains too much iron oxide. Mix sand, peat and garden soil in a ratio of 1:2:2. All components of the soil mixture must be carefully sieved to remove debris, lumps and pebbles. After that, the soil should be spilled with boiling water or calcined in the oven to destroy all pathogens.

Technique for sowing petunias for seedlings

Petunia seedlings need good lighting. If you have the opportunity to provide the seedlings with additional daylight, you can sow as early as the end of February. Otherwise, it is better to wait until mid-March, otherwise the sprouts will be weak and elongated.

As containers for seedlings, you can use plastic containers (preferably with opaque walls), special seedling greenhouses with cassettes, or sow in peat tablets. Pour drainage at the bottom of the containers, on top - a soil mixture with a thickness of at least six centimeters.

On sale, petunia seeds can be found in two versions: in granules or in bulk.

In granular form, most often you can find seeds of hybrids. These are very beautiful ampelous, terry, multicolor and other interesting varieties. The disadvantage of such seeds is only one - the high cost. In addition to the actual higher average price per sachet, each such sachet usually contains three to seven seeds. However, it can be convenient for planting petunias in pots, balcony boxes and flowerpots. For a flower bed of such bags you will need a lot.

There are many benefits to granulated seeds. First of all, petunia seeds themselves are extremely small, they are much smaller than a grain of sand, and it is difficult to sow them. But sowing granules is extremely simple. It is enough to lay out the granules on the prepared and moistened soil mixture and slightly press them in (it is not necessary to sprinkle with earth, the petunia is sown superficially). Seeds are laid out at a distance of several centimeters from each other. You can sow immediately in pots or cups - two per cup. The sown granules are covered with plastic wrap. By the way, granulated seeds give on average a higher germination rate compared to conventional ones.

But with loose seeds, everything is somewhat more complicated. Here, the inconvenience is compensated by the lower cost. In addition, a loose bag can contain up to several hundred seeds (this information is usually indicated on the package). In this situation, one of the following instructions will come in handy.

Option 1: Mix with sand

Option 2: Tweezers or a toothpick

  1. Prepare a container of soil. Pour the seeds from the bag onto a white sheet of paper, so you can clearly see them. Prepare two toothpicks and a glass of water.
  2. Dip the tip of one of the toothpicks into the water. Now it will be easy to pick up a petunia seed on it and transfer it to the container. Shake the seed onto the soil with a second (dry) toothpick.
  3. Sprinkle the sown seeds on top with water from a spray bottle.
In the same way, you can carefully transfer the seeds to the soil with tweezers.

Option 3: Sowing in the snow

For all sowing options, the seeds are covered with plastic wrap on top.

Sowing seeds in prepared soil mixture or in peat tablets

The soil for sowing seeds should not be alkaline or strongly acidic. Loose, nutritious soil mixtures are used that are able to retain moisture, but do not lock at the same time, skipping excess water. Ready-made soil mixture is sold in stores, you can mix a suitable mixture yourself, taking two parts of well-decomposed peat, sod land, rotted humus and one part of sand. Mix all the ingredients well, sift twice - through a very large sieve and through a smaller sieve.

Pour crushed expanded clay into the bottom of the boxes or pots as drainage, over the expanded clay - large screenings of the soil mixture, fill the upper third of the container with fine screenings, leaving about 6 cm to the edge. Scatter the seeds in even rows over moistened soil and lightly sprinkle water on top.

The soil for sowing petunia seeds should not be alkaline or strongly acidic.

The seeds do not need to be sprinkled with earth, since they need light to germinate. It is enough to lightly press each seed to ensure contact with the ground. If you are interested in how to grow petunia seedlings most the easy way , use peat tablets instead of containers for seedlings. They must first be filled with boiled hot water and then cool. Small seeds are carefully placed with tweezers in special recesses.

How to properly care for seedlings

The air temperature in the room for growing seedlings should be 20-22 degrees. You need as much light as possible (ideally - lighting during the day). The substrate must be constantly wet, but water stagnation should not be allowed. Condensation on the lid or film must be wiped daily. In addition, you need to take care of hardening the sprouts. To do this, after the emergence of shoots every day, remove the cover for 10 minutes. Gradually, the ventilation time increases. You can completely remove the lid or film after all the sprouts acquire real leaves.

Feeding at the first stages is not needed, but you can strengthen the immunity of seedlings by adding Epin to the water for spraying (a few drops per spray bottle).

In individual containers, it will be more convenient for the plant to develop, it will grow healthier.

You can start diving seedlings when their height reaches 4-5 centimeters. Using a narrow knife, remove each sprout, pinching the root at a depth of about three centimeters. After that, each sprout is planted in an individual container.

The main problem that can be encountered when growing petunia seedlings is excessive stretching of sprouts due to lack of light. You can cope with this problem when picking, deepening the seedlings into the soil to the cotyledon leaves.

Granular seeds can be sown directly into peat tablets - then you don't have to dive.

In individual containers, it will be more convenient for the plant to develop, it will grow healthier, and it will be easier for you to transplant seedlings into open ground. When picking, deepen the seedling to the first true leaves so that a good root system is formed and the likelihood of damage to the sprouts by the "black leg" is reduced.

In order for a healthy, beautiful petunia to grow from seeds, the cultivation of sprouts must be accompanied by regular, accurate watering. When the soil dries out, the plants will die, and waterlogging will lead to the appearance of a “black leg”, and as a result, to rotting and death of small seedlings. Weak seedlings should be carefully watered under the root.

Top dressing is applied after two weeks after picking the plants.

To harden off a young plant, open the window for 10 minutes from the second week, thereby lowering the air temperature in the room. However, at the same time, the sprouts must be protected from drafts and a direct flow of cold air, the temperature of the seedlings themselves should not drop.

Video about growing petunia seedlings with your own hands

Top dressing is applied after two weeks after picking the plants. At first, apply only foliar sprays every two days, alternating growth promoters and complex mineral fertilizers with nitrogen content. Later you can add root dressing. Important little things :

  • sprouts need light almost around the clock, you will need to provide not only daytime illumination of seedlings in gloomy weather, but also leave subdued light at night;
  • do not allow the appearance of a crust on the ground, otherwise the seedlings will suffocate;
  • when the roots of the plant fill the entire clod of earth, transplant the petunia into a larger container;
  • if you notice that the seedlings are too stretched, add a little soil mixture;
  • for growing expensive and rare varieties, use peat tablets.

At first, the petunia will grow quite slowly, do not worry - the root system is forming in the plants. After about 1.5 months, the aerial part will develop no less actively.

How to plant a petunia in open ground

At least a week before planting in open ground, seedlings should be accustomed to new conditions. To do this, the seedlings are taken out to the balcony or veranda daily, every day increasing the time spent on outdoors. Three days before planting, the pots are already left to spend the night on the street.

It is better to plant seedlings in the evening or on a cloudy day (not when direct sun). Holes are prepared for seedlings at a distance of 18 to 35 centimeters (depending on the variety). Fill wells with plenty of water. As carefully as possible, remove the seedling from the cup along with the earthy clod. Immerse the earth ball into the hole, sprinkle with earth and tamp tightly.

Sowing petunias in the snow - get 100% seedlings!

Every summer resident and gardener often faces the problem of growing petunia seedlings, because small seeds very often do not germinate. What to do? How to grow beautiful and lush flowers? The cultivation technology is not complicated, but requires compliance with certain rules:

  1. When to sow petunias for seedlings? You can start sowing as early as late January and early February, if you have for future seedlings. But if there are no special lamps, then it is better to postpone the sowing of seeds until March, when the daylight hours become longer and the sprouts will receive sufficient quantity natural light
  2. Prepare the ground. Take 2 parts of red peat, 1 part of river sand and 1 part of sod land, mix well. Arrange in containers for growing seedlings (it is better to take flat and low ones) and shed pink potassium permanganate solution. Cover the containers with sheets of paper and leave for a day. The soil is disinfected and compacted to the desired consistency.
  3. Sow the seeds. To do this, you need pure white snow! Spread the snow in an even layer in bowls, about 1 cm thick and compact it a little. Now you can sow - in small patches or with a toothpick, spread the seeds over the surface of the snow, without pressing or compacting, lay it out carefully! Cover the containers with lids or film, glass and put them in a bright place (under the lamp), where the air temperature will be kept at + 25 ° C (this is the germination temperature of petunia seeds). Seeds can also sprout at lower temperatures, but then the germination time will increase.
  4. When will petunia seeds sprout? Petunia shoots appear 3-7 days after sowing, if the conditions are met. Containers should not be opened until all seedlings appear on the surface.
  5. What to do next with seedlings? The first time after germination, the plants build up the root system, so the leaf blades develop slowly. When the sprouts grow a little, you can open and ventilate for the first time for 5-7 minutes. condensate, accumulated on the lid should be carefully removed with a cloth or paper towel. Remember, seedlings are still quite fragile and large drops of water can nail the sprouts to the ground. Water as needed, but do not flood! The soil must be moist, do not let it dry out.
  6. How to water small petunia shoots? Watering is best done along the walls of the container so that water does not fall on the plants, and it is advisable to use an ordinary medical syringe for this. Nothing needs to be added to the water. feed the plants also at this stage not necessary, since the quantities nutrients in the ground is enough for the growth of small seedlings.
  7. When to dive and plant a petunia? When the plants have 3-4 leaves, they can be seated. Do this very carefully so as not to damage the root system. The soil for transplanting is taken the same as when sowing seeds.

And one more little advice - do not rush to remove the lids from the containers, leave the plants there longer, even after the first pick, because inside, with a sufficient level of lighting and heat, there are optimal development conditions. If the lids are removed too soon, the plants stun, begin to ache and wither.
