How to make an apple juicer from various materials with your own hands. Is a DIY apple juicer real? DIY homemade juicer

One of the most simple ways harvest processing - juice preparation. A DIY apple juicer can be an excellent solution, since most of these devices are either expensive, or have low performance and are short-lived.

There are several ways to make a centrifugal juicer from washing machine. For one of them you will need a drum, its mount and a casing from.

Design homemade juicer from the washing machine: 1 - washing machine tank; 2 - centrifuge; 3 - mesh liner; 4 - fruit hopper; 5 - grater; 6 - bushing-axle; 7 - guide pipe; 8 - engine; 9 - car tire.

First, they are cleaned of traces of powder and scale, and then polished with fine sandpaper to a shine. All holes in the drum casing, except the bottom one, are closed with a thin rubber gasket and stainless steel plates using nuts and bolts.

A circle with a radius of 110-115 mm is cut out of a stainless steel sheet, 2-3 mm thick, for the grater. For the lining, we make another circle of the same diameter and from the same material, but with a thickness of 0.5-0.6 mm. Lining provides rigidity. It is secured with three brass posts exactly in the middle of the bottom of the drum. The grater is installed on the lining using five M5 screws.

After two circles, many holes are drilled with a radius of 2.5 mm; centimeter markings are made along the diameter, dividing it into 14-20 sections. The cutting teeth are driven along it with a punch.

Apple loading tube matching the diameter big hole, is attached to the drum on four sides with aluminum angles and bolts. You can use a pipe with a corrugated hose or a polyethylene pipe with walls 5 - 6 mm thick. The MB bolts are inserted from the inside of the casing at the beginning of the process and are clamped from the outside with nuts. The distance between the pipe and the float determines degree of grinding apples The corners are secured at the top with lambs.

From a stainless steel mesh with a cell of 1×1 mm, blanks are made with dimensions the size of a drum section (with a margin of one centimeter for bending) according to the number of stiffening ribs. We bend the mesh so that the edges become smooth and safe. Using a rivet gun and an awl, firmly attach the mesh to the drum.

For the pusher, a plywood circle with a diameter of 0.8-0.9 cm is attached to the end of the thick handle of the shovel. A limiter is installed to prevent the pusher from coming into contact with the grater.

The pulley is remade to fit the required dimensions and V-belt. The base frame is welded from a corner. A 1.1 kW motor at 3000 rpm is ideal.

A polyethylene or rubber circle is cut out with a diameter similar to the casing and a hole corresponding to the diameter of the pipe for loading apples. This cover protects against splashes and covers the moving drum. A hose for the escaping juice is pulled to the bottom hole of the drum, under which a pan is placed.

All elements are firmly clamped, the motor and wires are insulated, and the voltage in the network is taken into account. The parts of the container are thoroughly washed.

During a test run, the empty drum of a properly assembled homemade apple juicer should not beat or make any foreign noise.

Apples are placed in it 2-3 pieces. Using a pusher, they are pushed close to the grater. Centrifugal force distributes the cake over the mesh. If the device starts to vibrate, then, without adding apples, wait until the juice stops flowing. If you add the product systematically and constantly, a bucket of apples will be processed until vibration (in 7-10 minutes).

After turning off the engine, use a plastic spatula to remove the cake from the grid. Then wash and dry all the parts. The device is stored disassembled.

From an activator type machine

Can also be made from an activator type washing machine. The activator and shaft are removed from the bottom of the tank, and a shaft of the required diameter is installed. Three knives are installed on the shaft thread with nuts at an angle of 60 degrees. The drain hole closes. A stainless steel mesh with a mesh size of approximately 1.5 mm is placed on the wall of the centrifuge with an overlap of 40-50 mm. A complete rubber cap, plugged with a stopper, is placed on the bottom. Everything is washed baking soda. The timer relay is turned off or its toggle switch is jammed.

Several apples are dropped into the tank onto moving knives. The fruits are crushed for 20-30 minutes. At a time they move into a centrifuge no more than 3 liters the resulting puree so that it does not spill out. After 2-3 minutes, the mesh containing the waste is removed.

The assembled apparatus prepares 10-12 liters of juice with pulp per hour and works with juicy fruits. To remove sediment, the juice is allowed to settle and then passed through cheesecloth.

If there is no electricity, it is better to make a homemade juicer. For her, apples are cut in half, the core and rotten areas are removed. A long straight trough made of pine or spruce boards is filled with prepared apples, which are then pounded with a rectangular spatula with a sharp blade corresponding to the width of the trough.

A hole is cut in a rectangular tank, pan, barrel or wooden compartment lined with polyethylene to drain the juice. Gauze with apple pulp is placed inside, arranged with boards. A piston cover is placed on top, and a press of one of two designs rests on it:

  • worm gear;
  • jack.

The screw is tightened smoothly, watching the juice drain. At the end of the process, the screw is unscrewed upward and the cake is removed from the gauze.

Apples for the described manual juicer can also be crushed with a mixer mounted on a drill, this will speed up the process. And you can use a large plastic bottle as a tank.

After watching the video on how to make a juicer, don’t forget about preparing the raw materials for extraction. Apples are washed and rotten areas are cut off. The product for juicers from washing machines does not need to be cut or cleaned, but it should remove pits. The resulting dry cake is added to animal feed in winter and used as fertilizer.

Having mastered the independent production of a juicer, you can easily make a factory model.

For lovers of apple juice from apples and berries, I can offer a homemade juicer that is easy to make and does not require significant investment. It is made from an old automatic washing machine.

Factory juicers are characterized by low productivity and poor reliability, since they contain many plastic components and parts. On my homemade one, a bucket of apples is processed in 7 - 10 minutes.

To make it, we will need mainly a drum and its casing and an apple press from the washing machine. They can be taken from any used horizontal-loading automatic washing machine. Getting such a car is not a problem nowadays, since models change every 2-3 years.

Juicer from a washing machine work progress

We do a complete disassembly old car. We leave the drum, drum casing, drum mounting bracket with bearings. We unscrew the balancers, temperature sensors, heating elements and other unnecessary parts and remove them from the casing.

We thoroughly clean all parts from powder and scale. Using fine sandpaper, polish all surfaces to a shine. Let's inspect the existing holes. We need to leave only one hole in the drum casing, at the bottom - for draining the juice. We seal all other holes with a thin rubber pad, clamping it with stainless steel plates on bolts. If possible, it is better to take all bolts and nuts from brass or stainless steel. In my case, a tube with a corrugated hose from a siphon for a kitchen sink matched the large hole in diameter.

We make a grater and a gasket for the grater. From “stainless steel” 2 mm thick, we cut out a circle with a diameter of 220 mm using a grinder or on a machine - for a grater. From the same steel 0.5 mm thick, use metal scissors to cut out a second circle with a diameter of 220 mm: this will be the gasket. It is needed to ensure rigidity so that the grater does not sag. The gasket is attached through three brass posts to the bottom of the drum, and the grater is attached to it with five M5 screws. We cut the thread directly into the gasket.

The grater is made as follows. Having drilled holes with a diameter of 5 mm, we make markings in 10 mm increments along the entire diameter. We divide the circle into 14-20 sectors. We fasten the workpiece with screws to plywood with a thickness of 10 - 16 mm in holes with a diameter of 5 mm. Using a punch with a round or square working profile, we fill the cutting teeth according to the markings. The screws and gasket prevent the grater from bending and moving. Marking and drilling of all parts should be done as accurately as possible so that the grater is located exactly in the center of the drum.

DIY apple juicer drawings

The drum has holes with a diameter of 3-4 mm, so we are finalizing it. As a rule, the inside of the drum has three stiffening ribs. We take a fine stainless steel mesh with a 1x1 mm mesh, make three blanks according to the size of the drum sections (if there are no stiffeners, then we make the mesh in one piece). In the upper part of the mesh we add 10 mm for bending, made under the ruler, tapping with a hammer - the edges are smooth and injury-proof. Using an awl and a gun with blind rivets, we secure the mesh inside the drum. The number of rivets is arbitrary so that the mesh fits tightly to the surface of the drum and does not move away during rotation.

From a piece of polyethylene pipe with an internal diameter of 100 mm and a wall thickness of 5 - 6 mm, we make a hopper for loading apples. To secure the pipe we need four aluminum alloy corners. We fix the pipe offset from the center so that its edge is on the edge of the grater.

The pipe with angles is attached to the drum casing with 4 MB bolts, and the bolts must be inserted from the inside of the casing before assembly and clamped with nuts from the outside. Using washers under the corners, we adjust the gap between the pipe and the grater: the degree of chopping of the apples depends on it. The corners are fastened with wings on top for quick disassembly and assembly.

We make an apple pusher from a birch shovel cutting. We attach a circle of plywood with a diameter of 90 mm to its end, and put a limiter in the upper part so that the pusher cannot drop to the grater.

After we have prepared all the parts, we assemble the drum with a casing and bracket. We check the bearings and seal and replace if necessary. The pulley will have to be remade to fit your dimensions and the V-belt.

I took the engine with a power of 1.1 kW at 3000 rpm. On the drum using belt drive 1500 rpm is supplied. More is dangerous due to vibration, and less - the juice will not drain well during extraction.

Let's weld the base frame from a corner or use some ready-made one. We attach the bracket with the drum casing to it through rubber vibration-damping washers. We cut out a cover from thick polyethylene or rubber - a circle along the diameter of the drum casing with a hole for the apple loading pipe. The lid is necessary not only to protect against the emission of juice splashes: it will also protect against the rotating drum.

All fasteners must be securely clamped and electrical part assembled with good insulation to prevent damage electric shock. Before assembling the container parts, thoroughly wash them with dishwashing detergent and rinse them. All components must be made from environmentally friendly materials, not subject to corrosion and not release harmful substances into the juice.

DIY juicer video

After assembly and adjustment, we carry out a test run. An empty drum should rotate without beating or extraneous noise. We prepare the apples, wash them thoroughly, and remove any rotten or wormy ones. Good apples you don't have to cut it. The core and seeds are not a hindrance to our juicer. We place a bucket under the drain tube. Throw in apples 1 - 2 pcs. into the hopper and press it against the grater with a pusher. With uniform casting, approximately a bucket of apples is crushed until vibration begins. Centrifugal force presses the cake evenly around the circumference of the mesh. If a slight vibration begins, we stop the casting and let it spin until the juice stops flowing from the tube.

Turn off the engine and wait for it to come to a complete stop. Using a plastic plate or a children's sandbox shovel, we clean the cake from the drum mesh.

After finishing the work, thoroughly rinse the mesh and all parts with a strong stream of water.

For long-term storage We separate the drum casing from the bracket, remove the mesh for more thorough cleaning and washing.

Dried cake is a good vitamin supplement for chicken and goat feed during the winter.

Is it possible to make an apple juicer with your own hands? Of course, moreover, anyone can cope with this. The material below will be of interest to summer residents, people who have small gardens and who love apple juice in unlimited quantities throughout the year.

Features of the device

If we are talking about preparing juice from seasonal fruits in quantities of up to 2 liters, then electric auger juicers, presented on the shelves of any large hardware store. But if you need to squeeze juice out of a large number of apples, and household appliances are not suitable, then your brain and available materials come to the rescue. For large quantities of apples, a highly productive and reliable juicer is needed.

One of the main advantages homemade apparatus is in minimal or no capital investment, if all available materials are available. In case of malfunction or breakdown, it is possible to repair the device yourself.

Before you start making a homemade juicer, you need to understand the principle of its operation and know what elements must be provided and installed during its creation:

  • the first necessary part is a chopper;
  • in fact, the press, which squeezes the juice from the fruit;
  • something like a filter, in this case you can use gauze, a sieve, a colander, or make it homemade using a drill and stainless steel;
  • last required element- This is a container in which freshly squeezed apple juice should be collected.

Species

Homemade juicers are divided into 4 types: mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electro-hydraulic. The most commonly made at home juicers are the mechanical type. Such models are large in size and are divided into two types: centrifugal devices, where the apple is crushed in a centrifuge, and then a press or screw products come into operation, which produce the necessary juice through complete processing of the fruit.

The big advantage of auger devices is that they give maximum quantity juice, and after finishing work there is no need to clean and rinse them, like centrifugal ones. Please note that the option with a screw apparatus is more expensive and labor-intensive to create, requiring the use of a machine and certain knowledge.

How to do it yourself?

One of the easiest ways to quickly create a juicer is the old one. folk method. To do this, you need a wooden or metal container, a sieve and a manual screw press, under which the fruits are poured, and the juice is squeezed out of them using human power. Anyone can act as a press hard material(old whetstone, hardwood wooden wheel, metal product), the desired shape is round.

In the manufacture of this model, only the creation of a screw press will take time. To do this you will need a so-called support frame, metal or wood, the screw itself, preferably with a handle for tightening, and support board, the diameter of which must correspond to the dimensions of the inside of the container. If there is welding machine and a metal sheet, then the screw mechanism described above, as well as a metal profile for attaching the support board, can be welded, which also does not take much time and effort.

You can use an old but working jack as a press, which is attached to the frame on top of the support board.

Among homemade apple juicers automatic principle action, a popular option is to use elements that are old or out of order washing machine any type. What is needed to make it:

  • take the drum of the machine, better known as a centrifuge, and an intact casing (tank);
  • in the tank itself, it is imperative to close all unnecessary holes and holes in any way, leaving only one through which the finished juice will flow out during squeezing;
  • if the filter mesh is preserved in satisfactory condition in the tank, then it can be moved and installed on the drain of the product;
  • presence or self-production fastening units;
  • ball bearings, if the old ones are ok, use them or buy new ones.

Please note that all materials removed from the washing machine must be thoroughly cleaned, removing washing powder, elements of rust, oils, and scale.

Assembling an automatic juicer has its own nuances:

  • installation of a DC motor with a power of at least 11 kW;
  • making a frame for attaching the casing, it is best to weld it from metal corners;
  • all electrical contacts must be well insulated, if possible use corrugation;
  • Before turning on, you need to check that the device is assembled correctly, electrical network must provide the required voltage;
  • After assembling the device, it is necessary to rinse it thoroughly and perform the first idle start.

The product is ready for use. Do not forget that after each squeeze, the drum must be rinsed and cleaned. A product of this type shows great productivity: within half an hour you can process 2-3 buckets of apples and get natural fruit juice.

There is another simple option for creating a juicer to get your favorite apple drink. We take an ordinary mixer, attach 2 bolts to its lower part, connect it to an electric drill and grind apples in a container (bucket, deep basin, tank). Place the resulting mushy liquid in a cloth bag and in a new container, preferably with holes in the bottom for juice to flow out.

Fruit preparation

Before squeezing the juice, the apples must be carefully sorted, since rotten fruits will subsequently negatively affect the taste of the future drink. After selection, the fruits must be thoroughly washed and the water allowed to drain. It is advisable to cut large apples into pieces; the core does not need to be removed, but in this case, after obtaining the juice, you will need to pass it through a thick filter to remove the seeds; the peels from the apples are also not removed.

After all the juice has drained, pass it through the filter. However, if you plan to prepare juice with pulp, and the cores of the fruits have been removed in advance, then the finished drink does not need to be passed through a filter. To preserve the nutrients in the resulting juice, it is better to pasteurize it, but not to boil it.

To learn how to make a juicer with your own hands, see the following video.

The quality of store-bought juices often causes justifiable criticism. Society has long had an opinion that the safest drink from vegetables or fruits is one squeezed “with your own hands.” The necessary equipment for this simple procedure is a juicer. There is no shortage of inexpensive juicers for urban kitchens. Most often these are small household appliances that cannot always be recycled bountiful harvest from the site.

More powerful cars turn out to be expensive and inaccessible. The solution to this situation could be a DIY juicer for apples or other fruits.

To figure out how to make a juicer and begin your own project, you need to understand how it works. Making juice involves chopping fruits or vegetables and actually squeezing them.

Depending on the design of the device, processes can be performed sequentially or simultaneously. In centrifugal models, first there is grinding by a centrifuge, then the press comes into play. Screw devices extract juice during the processing process.

Structural elements

Regardless of the choice of screw or centrifugal design, to assemble a homemade juicer you will need:

  • device for grinding and squeezing;
  • storage hopper;
  • container for collecting the pomace.

Further design complexity depends on technical capabilities.

The simplest option is manual grinding and then placing it under a screw press. More complex versions require a mechanical drive for the chopper.

Screw options with simultaneous grinding and squeezing are more expensive and will require more time to manufacture.

Hand press

The easiest way to acquire a device for squeezing juice is to use your grandfather’s experience. In ancient times, an ordinary wooden trough and a chopper (a special knife for chopping hard fruits and vegetables) were used to chop pre-peeled apples.

The pulp prepared in this way, packed in canvas (gauze), was loaded into a wooden tub under a press. To drain the juice into a specially prepared container, a hole was made in the lower part of the tub. Any heavy objects, for example, a couple of boulders, could be used as a press.

Press

If possible, a screw press was used, consisting of:

  • support frame made of wood or metal;
  • screw with handle for tightening;
  • round support board with a diameter of internal dimensions containers.

The possibility of using a welding machine will allow you to assemble a press from metal. Alternatively you can use:

  • two pipes;
  • a U-shaped profile is welded on top;
  • a hole is made in the profile and a threaded head is welded to install the screw;
  • a push-up stop must be provided on the bottom of the screw;
  • top rotation handle;
  • A pair of clamps are welded to the pipes from below for fastening to the support board;
  • Instead of clamps, a support structure made of a metal profile can be used.

This option will not be too costly in terms of time and resources. The performance of the device depends on the volume of the tub.

In operation, the pressing method is more labor-intensive due to the fact that a significant part of the work is performed manually.

Centrifugal juicer made from washing machine elements

A popular automated option is devices for squeezing centrifugal juice from a washing machine. To make them, the following are removed from the donor device:

  • drum (centrifuge);
  • casing (tank) checked for defects;
  • fastening units;
  • ball bearings.

All dismantled parts must be cleaned of powder residues, rust, and scale. All holes in the tank must be welded or closed with rubber plugs. Of all the holes, only one should remain for the spin drain. A useful element of the tank will be a filter mesh, which is mounted above the drain outlet.

Making a grater

The standard centrifuge cannot be used as a grater and requires modification. Standard holes, which are used to drain water during spinning, will not cope with grinding. There are several options to solve the problem. Among them:

  • make a steel lining from stainless steel, drill holes and fill teeth, secure it inside the centrifuge;
  • install a mesh on the walls of the centrifuge, which will serve as a grinder;
  • Drill out the standard holes of the drum and fill the notches with the sharp part inward in the direction opposite to its movement.

Housing installation

The drum with the grater is mounted in the tank. For this purpose, fasteners and ball bearings from the washing unit are used. Fastening is carried out depending on the characteristics of the donor car. The assembled structure is placed in a vertical housing, which is closed with a removable lid with latches or a thumb-type fastening. A hopper is inserted into the hole in the lid on top, where vegetables and fruits are placed for chopping.

To prevent the apple bin from sinking down to the grater, a limiter should be provided. The body itself is mounted on a rigid or shock-absorbing base. The main thing is that the device does not lose stability from vibrations during operation.

Engine

The device drive is borrowed from the same washing machine. It can be located outside or inside the housing. Its speed must be matched with the required rotation speed of the centrifuge by a system of pulleys of the appropriate diameter.

Screw device

A more labor-intensive option, from a manufacturing point of view, is a screw device for squeezing juice. In this case, most of the parts of the unit are made independently:

  • stainless steel body;
  • screw press located inside the housing;
  • bunker;
  • a tray for receiving juice, from which it flows into a container;
  • engine at 1.5 thousand revolutions.

The assembled structure is mounted on a stand made of a metal frame with a motor mounted in it. A belt drive transmits rotation from the engine to the auger pulley.

The options listed are not a detailed description of making a homemade juicer. This general ideas, on the basis of which you can develop your project based on the available capabilities.

A homemade juicer with high productivity will be useful to gardeners and gardeners who have to solve the problem of processing large quantities of fruits or vegetables during the season. For household needs, a factory-made household juicer is sufficient, which will provide its owners with several servings of freshly squeezed juice.

We have been using a juicer for a long time, but I wanted to assemble a device that can be used in “ hiking conditions» – from the mother-in-law in the village or at the dacha, in addition with less effort and time. In my device, apples are processed whole, which speeds up the process. You just need to choose fruits without a wormhole and wash them.

Consists of homemade device of two parts: grater and press.

Grater from a washing machine

The electric motor (220 V) that drives the grater was taken from an old washing machine. I attached it with metal corners with four bolts (two on each side) to a base board 30 mm thick, 280 mm wide and 900 mm long. I secured a 10 liter stainless steel container to it with screws (photo 1)

I made a shaft d 18 mm from metal (it should fit inside the container, I attach a pulley to it from the outside). On lathe carved a wooden cylinder d 70 mm, into which drilled hole inserted the shaft. To prevent it from spinning in the wooden cylinder, I glued them together (the glue does not come into contact with the juice!).

I fixed the grater on a wooden cylinder with screws cylindrical, made of galvanized steel with a thickness of 0.7 mm.

I made a hole in the walls of the tank (below) with a drill d 18 mm

two holes opposite each other and installed a shaft inside on two bearings (photo 2). On the outside of the container, a pulley was attached to it - the grater rotates from an electric motor through a belt drive.

To prevent apples from slipping through big pieces, left a minimum distance between the grater and the walls of the tank, and attached wooden inserts with self-tapping screws (see photo 2).

The crushed mass falls into a fabric bag inserted into a bucket at the bottom of the container (photo 1). As soon as it is half full, I put the bag under the press.

Press with jack

To make the press, a holey container was needed - a drum from an old washing machine. I placed the container on a tray (baking tray) with a hole made with a drill to allow the juice to drain (photo 3).

On top of a bag of apple pulp, placed in a holey container, I place a wooden disk of the appropriate diameter (I made it from two wooden planks 25 mm thick, tightening them with four screws).

I squeeze out the juice using a car (screw) jack, which I place on a wooden press disk (photo 4). Through the holes, the liquid enters the pan and then flows through the hole into a substitute bucket.
